Dry for most for the rest of today with sunny spells, although cloudier at times in the southeast with the chance of a light shower. Light southerly or variable breezes.
Dry tonight with long clear spells. Some mist or fog patches will develop later in just light southeasterly breezes. Chilly with lowest temperatures of 2 to 7 degrees.
Wednesday will be mostly dry with sunny spells and just a few light showers possible. Becoming cloudier in the west in the evening with patchy rain or drizzle developing. Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees in light southerly breezes, increasing moderate along western coasts in the afternoon.
Overview: Dry and settled over the coming days before turning more unsettled for a time later in the week and to begin the weekend. While there's some uncertainty, it's likely to become more settled again through the weekend and into the start of next week. It'll become a little milder too.
Wednesday night: It'll be cloudy with a little light rain and drizzle in some parts of the southwest, west and northwest on Wednesday night. Dry and mostly clear elsewhere but rather chilly. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 11 degrees, in just light southerly or variable breezes. Some mist or fog patches too.
Thursday: Most areas will be dry with sunny spells, but cloudier skies and patchy light rain and drizzle, will affect west and northwest counties early on. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17, possibly 18 degrees, in light to moderate south to southeast breezes, fresher in western coastal counties.
Friday: It's going to be dry everywhere on Friday morning, with some sunshine for a time in the east. However, cloud will increase from the west, with rain moving in from the west later, to likely mainly affect western counties before nightfall. There'll be some moderate to heavy falls in that. Highest temperature of 14 to 16 degrees in freshening southerly winds, strong near Atlantic coasts.
Friday night: Rain will spread eastwards then on Friday night, but with a clearance to mostly dry conditions moving in across much of the western half of the country. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 13 degrees, with the winds easing as the rain clears and veering westerly.
Saturday: While there's some uncertainty in the detail, it looks like the rain is likely to linger across some eastern and possibly southern counties too for a good part of the day, with mainly dry, bright or sunny conditions elsewhere. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in mostly light to moderate westerly breezes, though it's likely to be a little breezier for a time in the east with moderate to fresh southerly winds.
Sunday: There's a chance of a little rain in southern counties, otherwise it looks likely to be mostly dry on Sunday with highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees in light variable breezes.
