Forecast for Inland Lakes issued at 06:30 hours Thursday, 23-Feb-2017

Meteorological situation at 0300:A rapidly deepening wave depression ( Doris) over Ulster will move quickly eastwards this morning in over northern England. The gale force northwest airflow over Ireland will moderate later today and a weak ridge will follow eastwards tonight.

Forecast For Lough Derg until nightfall today
Wind : West to northwest force 7 or gale 8 and squally decreasing force 6 or 7 later this morning, further decreasing force 5 or 6 by evening but gusty throughout
Weather : Occasional heavy squally showers, becoming scattered, sunny spells also
Visibility : Poor in heavy showers, otherwise good
Winds Overnight : Winds decreasing moderate westerly
Outlook for tomorrow : Moderate west to southwest winds backing southwest to south and increasing strong by evening, outbreaks of rain and drizzle developing in the morning, turning persistent later


Forecast For Lough Ree until nightfall today
Wind : West to northwest gale 8 and squally decreasing force 6 or 7 early this afternoon, further decreasing force 5 or 6 this evening but gusty throughout
Weather : Occasional heavy squally showers, becoming scattered, sunny spells also
Visibility : Poor in heavy showers, otherwise good
Winds Overnight : Winds decreasing moderate westerly
Outlook for tomorrow : Moderate west winds backing southwest to south and increasing fresh by evening. Dry at first, outbreaks of rain and drizzle developing by late morning.

Wind : West to northwest gale 8 and squally decreasing force 6 or 7 by early afternoon, further decreasing force 5 or 6 this evening but gusty throughout
Weather : Occasional heavy squally showers, becoming scattered, sunny spells also
Visibility : Poor in heavy showers, otherwise good
