Meteorological situation at 0900:A strong, unstable westerly airstream covers Ireland; the flow will back southwesterly and stabilise on Friday morning ahead of a frontal system approaching from the Atlantic.

Wind : West 5 or 6, occasionally 7.
Weather : Showers, some of hail; slight risk of thunderstorms also.
Visibility : Good, occasionally moderate in heavy showers.
Winds Overnight : West to southwest, fresh decreasing moderate.
Outlook for tomorrow : Fresh to strong southerly winds developing by afternoon, later veering southwesterly, moderate to fresh; fair at first, then rain.
