Today

This morning will be mostly cloudy with patchy drizzle in places. A few bright or sunny spells will develop in the southeast. Scattered showers will develop elsewhere during the afternoon and more persistent rain will move into the west and northwest during the evening. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees with moderate south to southwest breezes.

Tonight

Persistent or heavy rain will spread eastwards across the country tonight and become widespread. Clearer weather will develop in the west towards morning. It will become quite windy also with fresh, gusty southerly winds. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees.


Tomorrow

Monday will start off wet in eastern areas with heavy rain, which will clear during the morning. Sunny spells and occasional showers following from the west and becoming widespread during the afternoon. They'll gradually die out in the evening and early night. Becoming much cooler and fresher with moderate to fresh west to southwest winds. Highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees.

Outlook

Outlook is for cool and unsettled weather for the early days of next week but temperatures rising towards normal later in the week.

Sunday night : Mild, and rather windy on Sunday night, with persistent and at times heavy rain spreading eastwards, but turning more showery in western areas later in the night.

Monday: Heavy rain in eastern areas will give way to brighter but very showery conditions by late morning. The showers are likely to be heavy in many areas and prolonged and very heavy in many parts of the west and north with local thunder. Cool and blustery with fresh and gusty southwest, later veering westerly winds, strong in northern areas and top temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees C..

Tuesday: Tuesday will be another cool and extremely showery day with widespread showers, many heavy or of hail and some prolonged through the west and north with isolated thunderstorms also and local spot flooding. Afternoon temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees and windy in places with strong and blustery westerly winds especially in western and southwestern areas.

Wednesday: It will still be showery on Wednesday especially in eastern areas, but showers may not be quite as heavy as previous days, with some good sunny breaks developing in places and top temperatures reaching 12 to 16 degrees C.

The further outlook: Latest indications suggest temperatures will be close to normal on Thursday and Friday and while, Thursday should be mostly dry with some pleasant sunny spells, Friday will bring rather cloudy conditions with showery rain in places.
