Data & Products
Long term daily series of precipitation, temperature and other elements together
with time series plots are available from the European
Climate Assessment & Dataset website. ECA&D is initiated by the European Climate Support Network ECSN,
and is supported by the Network of European Meteorological Services EUMETNET.
Most historical data held by Met Éireann are not available
on this Web Site. A range of Climate data and products can be obtained
by completing an Order Form or
by contacting Climate Enquiries. There are charges for
the supply of climate data. On the right is a list of the most requested
Climate Products. Choose a product for further details. To ensure
a prompt response please provide these details:

Our database has a large amount of information available from our Synoptic,
Climate and Rainfall stations.
We can supply data via E-mail, Fax, post, FTP, CD ROM.
Once we have your Order Form,
we can supply you with a quote of the cost, if requested. If you know
exactly what you need, and supply your payment details, we can begin
your request immediately. Prepayment is required before requests are
processed. Payment may be made by Visa, Mastercard, cheque, postal
order, bank draft or purchase order number for regular customers. Some
of the Climate and Rainfall stations do not have a complete unbroken
record for any given element. Most data before 1941 are held
in paper format only. From 1941 onwards most of our data are held in
tables in an Ingres relational database. Climate data may not be reproduced,
re-used or redistributed for any commercial purpose whatsoever, or
distributed to a third party, without written permission from Met Éireann.
stations record meteorological elements on an hourly basis, such as air temperature, rainfall, wind speed, wind direction, atmospheric pressure, relative humidity, vapour pressure and soil temperatures. Manual stations have extra elements such as weather, cloud, visibility and sunshine. Estimated daily evaporation, potential evapotranspiration and soil moisture deficits are also available.
stations record meteorological elements on a daily
basis, such as rainfall and temperatures. Some record soil and
earth temperatures, sunshine, solar radiation and evaporation.
stations record daily rainfall amounts at 0900utc.
