Clones Synoptic Station is situated approximately 1.1 Km. north of Clones, Co. Monaghan. It is situated atop a drumlin in countryside that is characterised by such geological features.

History:
Clones station opened in 1957. Due to its north midland/south Ulster location, the station often recorded extreme temperature condition, most notably in winter. Clones station was officially closed in April 2008 and replaced by an Automatic Weather Station at Ballyhaise. Co. Cavan.
