Ballyhaise Automatic Weather Station (AWS) was opened in 2003 and is situated inthe grounds of the Ballyhaise agricultural college. The AWS replaced an existing climate station which was opened in 1931. The enclosure is situated in rolling hillside and is surrounded by young trees to the north and east. Mature trees are distant to the south and west. Since April the station has replaced Clones, Co Monaghan a Synoptic Station.
