Met Éireann Divisions
Instrumentation and Environmental Monitoring Division



Instrumentation and Environmental Monitoring Division has responsibility for instrumentation, for operations at Valentia Observatory and for development and supervision of the Service's monitoring activities in environmental matters. The Division has responsibility for radioactivity monitoring at all of Met Éireann's synoptic stations, monitoring of atmospheric chemistry at most stations, of UV-B radiation at Valentia and Malin, total column ozone etc. A chemical laboratory in HQ is maintained by the Division.
