Divisions

Administration and Training
This Division is responsible for financial, budgetary, personnel, accommodation,
supplies and other such matters. It provides secretarial, telephone switchboard,
reception desk and other services for Headquarters. It exercises administrative
supervision of the synoptic observing network and monitors rostering arrangements
at the larger stations, as well as liaising with the Personnel and Finance Units
of the Dept of Environment, Community and Local Government. This Division
also has the administrative responsibility for the training functions of the
Service. In this role it seeks to identify training needs of staff and to plan
for their fulfillment. To achieve the latter objectives, liaison with the relevant
staff at Casement Aerodrome, with other Divisions and with the Organisation and
Development Unit of the Department is part of its task.
Liaison with other Government Departments and a number of international
Organisations is also part of its function.
