Weather Warnings: Europe

Current Forecast:

Friday, 18 August 2017 07:19

Becoming blustery today with showers possibly merging to longer spells of thundery rain. The heaviest of the showers are likely across the west and northwest to begin, moving eastwards in turn through the late morning and afternoon. Some of the downpours will lead to spot flooding. Bright sunny spells will occur too though with the best of these in the east to begin and later in the west, that's as the showers clear into the Irish Sea. Feeling fresh with highest temperatures ranging 15 to 17 degrees Celsius. West to northwest breezes will increase fresh and gusty, especially around showers and coastal areas.

Showers will be just well scattered tonight, with a lot of dry weather developing under broken cloud. Lowest temperatures 9 to 12 degrees Celsius. Northwest winds will remain quite brisk.

Very Hot Weather Now in Southeast Europe
A cold front extending from the middle of France up through Germany is keeping much of Northwestern Europe in a showery slightly cooler than normal airstream. However, to the South of this front, a large area of high pressure that is almost stationary is bringing very hot weather to many parts of Southern and Eastern Europe at the moment.
