A lot of dry weather to start today but rain along eastern coasts will spread west and southwest as the day goes on, reaching the far southwest by evening. In the north drier and brighter weather will develop later. Highest temperatures this afternoon will reach 14 or 15 degrees in the northeast of the country, elsewhere will be between 17 and 19 degrees at best. Winds will be light, variable in direction at first, but will become moderate easterly later.


Tonight temperatures will fall to between 10 and 12 degrees in moderate northeast to north winds and outbreaks of rain will clear to showers for most places, although it is expected to stay overcast with outbreaks of rain along eastern coasts.

Met Éireann very high resolution climate reanalysis for Ireland  (MÉRA) - launch Friday May 26th
Met Éireann has carried out a 35-year very high resolution (2.5 km horizontal grid) regional climate reanalysis for Ireland using the ALADIN-HIRLAM numerical weather prediction system. This reanalysis spans the period 1981 to 2015 and includes surface, near-surface and atmospheric parameters. This dataset is the first of its kind for Ireland.
